Guitar
Guitar is a string musical instrument which is plucked or played with fingers or a plectrum called pick made of plastic, wood, or stone etc. having triangular shape with rounded corners. It consists of a body with a neck with strings, usually six in number.
There are two main types of guitars:

  • Electric guitars

Acoustic guitars have hollow bodies. The sound of an acoustic guitar is produced by the vibration of the strings which is amplified by the body of the guitar. Electric guitars originated in 1930s. These guitars also had a hollow body but later on solid body electric guitar were introduced which were found more suitable. These guitars have an amplifier which electronically manipulates sound.
